Get a Library Card

For Residents:

  • You are eligible for a 5-year library card if you live within our service area (City of Coloma, Coloma Township, Hagar Township, or Bainbridge Township; with the exception of Bainbridge Township residents in the Dowagiac District Library and Dowagiac School District area); or, own property or a business in Coloma Public Library's legal service area.
  • Proof of address and identification are required to obtain a library card. If a photo identification card (driver's license) does not include the current address, another document may be used (i.e., utility bill, current voter's registration card, a piece of mail addressed to the cardholder, etc.).
  • Minors, ages 5 to under 18 years old, are eligible for a library card with permission from a responsible caregiver who must provide proof of card eligibility. The autorizing adult will also accept full responsibility for materials borrowed on the minor's card.
  • New patrons are limited to 5 items the first time they check out materials. After that, they are entitled to up to 25 items total.
  • The Coloma Public Library is a participant in the Michigan statewide MILibrary card program. MILibrary card stickers may be issued to patrons in good standing in order to use other MILibrary card libraries. Patrons issued the sticker must comply with the rules of the library they are using. For additional information on participating libraries in the MILibrary Card Program visit https://www.milibrarycard.org/partcipating.html.
